Ledbury entertained Widdon Old Boys for the first time on Sunday.

LEDBURY U11s 17, WIDDON OLD BOYS U11s 7

Ledbury started slowly and Widdon took advantage with their backs causing Ledbury problems. They soon scored a converted try.

Ledbury's pack came to the rescue, with William Horton and Jacob Graham driving well from the rucks and mauls, pinning Widdon in their own half. Ledbury's pressure told with Bradley Smith scoring with the support of Alex Jenkins.

Widdon's backs were always dangerous and only committed tackling by George Bennion, Charles Heard and Chris Jones prevented them from scoring on several occasions.

Ledbury took charge in the second half with their scrum and line-out working well. Simon Davies and Freddie Lechmere came close to scoring from breaks around the base of the line-out.

Ledbury's driving play gave scrum half George Ellis good ball which led to Tom Church and Anton Mizen having time to make good breaks. Ledbury's pressure paid off when William Horton crashed over from a penalty move, which was converted by George Bennion.

Ledbury's second try came shortly afterwards when Bradley Smith drove over the line with Ledbury's pack in full support.

Ledbury won this entertaining and enjoyable game 17-7.

Training this week at 10.15am.
