Ledbury's recent good form nearly came to an abrupt end as they edged past bottom-of-the-table Keresley.

LEDBURY 1st XV 16pts, KERESLEY 14pts

In front of a large crowd, after another successful vice-presidents lunch, Ledbury made a great start to the game and soon found themselves 13-0 in the lead, following a fine try from winger Lee Douglas.

This was quickly followed by another try scored by Rob Collins, after good work from work horse winger Kieram Hallam, and with Barrett Price slotting over a penalty, things were looking good for Ledbury.

For some reason Ledbury then drifted out of the match as the large Keresley pack stamped their authority on the game, which led to them driving over for a converted try before half time.

The second half started badly for Ledbury with Keresley sensing they were in with a chance of victory and they soon crossed the Ledbury line. With the try being converted, Keresley now led 14-13.

From then on the game was a lottery, Ledbury having the skill, but Keresley having more desire to win.

Ledbury managed to up the tempo, with James Handley once again leading the way in defence.

With 10 minutes to go, after a spell of pressure near the Keresley line, Ledbury were awarded another penalty which Price slotted over to give the home side a 16-14 lead.

Keresley never gave up and had the chance to retake the lead when awarded a penalty but the kick was missed and the home side held out for another victory.
