Work on giving Newent's skatepark a facelift is set to start on Monday, when a team of young people from the Prince's Trust will arrive on site.
Some parts of the wooden ramps on the skatepark are rotten and need replacing.
There has also been some vandalism on the site, which is behind the Community Centre, off the Ross Road.
Some of the safety railings have been ripped away and there has also been a problem with graffiti.
The 16-strong Prince's Trust team has secured around £150 in donations for the work, but more funding is required.
The team members are all on a 12-week personal development course, which includes having to tackle a community project.
As well as funding for the work, the young people, aged 16 to 25, are appealing for tools and essential items such as work gloves.
Anyone wishing to help should phone the Prince's Trust on 07779 084 236.
