Somerfield in Ledbury is seeking a relaxation of planning restrictions that prevent lorries unloading in the yard outside the delivery bay.
Currently, lorries making deliveries to the New Street supermarket have to load and unload inside the bay, with the doors shut behind them. The condition was put in to safeguard residents from noise.
Herefordshire councillors will decide whether to relax the restrictions at a meeting of the northern area planning sub-committee on Wednesday.
Officers are recommending approval, providing that engines are turned off when vehicles have parked ready for loading and unloading.
Another condition would be that loading or unload ing must be from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Fridays and from 7am to 1pm on Saturdays. No deliveries would be allowed on Sundays or Bank Holidays.
