Bicester Town 0 Pegasus Juniors 0
PEGASUS ground out a hard-earned and well-merited draw to retain the three-point advantage they hold over their opponents in the Premier Division of the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League.
Pegasus could have taken the lead in the second minute but their protests fell on deaf ears when a home defender appeared to stop Cory Hyde's goal-bound shot with his hand.
After surviving one close call, they continued to create chances but lacked the guile and accuracy to break the deadlock, although Gavin Stone combined with Mike Symonds to bring a fine save out of the home keeper.
It did not get any better after the break as first Symonds shot on to the roof of the net after picking-up possession from a weak clearance and then Stone shot straight at the keeper.
The home side enjoyed their best spell of the game in the final quarter, but their finishing was also below par. They did go close in the last 10 minutes but new signing Vinnie Byfield was thwarted by a goalline clearance from Darren Jones.
Shortwood United 0 Pegasus Juniors 4
Pegasus avenged an earlier 3-0 defeat at the hands of Shortwood with an emphatic midweek win.
Chris Aspey opened the scoring midway through the first half.
Mark Davis then put Pegasus in total command with two goals inside the first 10 minutes of the second period and Chris Goode completed a satisfying performance for the Juniors with the fourth.
