Kidderminster Harriers 2 Wellington 0
WELLINGTON'S dreams of reaching the semi-finals of the Midland Floodlit Under-18 Youth Cup were dashed by two late goals at Aggborough.
Appearing in the quarter-final stage for the second year running, the villagers put up a fine performance and, after defending stoutly in the first period, were enjoying at least as good as they got in the second half.
With Steve Brotherwood and Chris Preece marshalling their defence well and Kyle Waring making a couple of point-blank saves, the visitors reached the interval all square.
Cory Hyde and Rory Parsons led the fight to the home team in the second half and when Joe Arnold hit the post midway through hopes were running high.
A slip in defence allowed Kidderminster to take the lead, and in the dying moments they doubled their advantage when a long shot deceived Waring.
