Presteigne 2 Kington 3
KINGTON quickly aveng-ed the previous week's Mid-Wales Cup extra-time defeat by neighbours Presteigne when they came from behind to snatch victory and clinch the Mid-Wales League championship.
Once again there was little to separate the teams as Presteigne took an early lead, but the visitors levelled just before the break when Sherrie Gore and Jenny Layton combined to set up Bev Hyde who found the target with a neat flick.
Presteigne regained the lead soon after the restart but Kington again fought back to equalise with a superb solo run and strike from Helen Yeomans.
Good Kington defence kept Presteigne out as they pressed for a winner and, with time running out, then made a late surge and clinched victory when Alex Watson forced Presteigne into conceding an own goal.
