A Kington nutritionist is hungry to help a cause close to her heart by pounding the pavements in April's London Marathon.
Daphne Lambert, organic chef, proprietor and gardener of Penrhos Hotel, is joining the Soil Association team bidding to raise £50,000 to promote awareness of links between farming and food quality.
"Most people don't even realise that the Soil Association is a charity and my belief is that organic food is what makes people healthy," she said.
Ms Lambert, who has been running for less than three years, took part in the London Marathon last year in aid of the Mental Health Foundation.
"It took me a long time but I did do it," said the 50-year-old.
"Running is not a passion but if I can raise money for an important issue I will do it one more time. The whole food chain issue is very pertinent today. There are so many things that have gone wrong in recent years that we do need to address it."
Anyone who wants to sponsor Ms Lambert can send cheques made payable to the Soil Association to Penrhos Court, Kington, Herefordshire, HR5 3LH.
