HEREFORDSHIRE'S world number five ranked indoor bowler Rob Weale suffered another tie-break defeat when he was beaten in the quarter-finals of the Norwegian Coastal Voyage WBT Welsh Masters by American Neil Furman.
Having lost in sudden-death finishes in the singles, pairs and mixed at the WBT World Indoor Championships, he must have feared the worst when Furman took the second set 8-3 after Weale had won the first 7-4.
The 43-year-old Furman then enjoyed the rub of the green to win the first two ends of the play-off to go through.
