Boldmere St Michael's 0 Westfields 3
IN-FORM striker Paul Burton bagged a brace as Westfields continued their impressive run and climb up the Midlands Alliance with a sixth straight win and a second league double of the season.
The visitors gave notice of their intent when Wayne Hoskins hit the post with a diving header as Westfields made a bright start.
Excellent team work created the opening Westfields goal when a superb build-up saw Kevin Jinks deliver a pin-point cross for Burton to chest down and rifle home a tremendous volley.
After the break Westfields extended their lead when Roy Jordan went down the flank and crossed for Wayne Hoskins to hit the target with a powerful header.
Boldmere should have pulled a goal back with a penalty when visiting goalkeeper Jon Pugh was adjudged to have brought down a home striker but the spot-kick was blasted high and wide.
Minutes later Pugh made amends for his blunder with a superb point-blank save to keep out a goal-bound header.
Westfields made sure that their winning run continued when Matt Aubrey beat two defenders to set up co-striker Burton for his second goal, the marksman drilling in goal number three to clinch victory.
