Pegasus Juniors 0 Southall Town 2
PEGASUS, who lost at Southall the previous week, conceded a quickfire double to the Cherry Red Records Hellenic League's second-placed side.
Southall, who had won 12 of their last 13 fixtures, were in front inside three minutes when Ross Christie's harmless-looking cross deceived goalkeeper Adam Ding and left Carlton Mitchell with the simple task of prodding the ball home.
The visitors then concentrated on defence and the odd break-away but Pegasus should have drawn level when Darren Jones found Gavin Stone in behind the Southall backline. Stone, however, shot weakly at Ben Miles from a good position.
Pegasus were then denied a penalty appeal after an apparent handball by Lee Gardner before Matt Gray headed a Jamie Edmonds free-kick across goal to Rob Laurie who forced a fine save from Miles.
Jones should have levelled just before the break, however, when he fired over the bar from a good position with Miles beaten.
But all of Pegasus's good work came to nothing when Ashley Keane bundled in Chris Glynn's cross to double the lead immediately after the break.
l A GOAL from Etty Greenhouse in the 35th minute gave Pegasus Ladies a 1-0 success at Knowle on Sunday.
Julie Nicholas and Lucy Belcher were unlucky with shots which hit the woodwork.
