Hinton 3
Wyre Forest Brintons 0
HINTON continued their welcome return to form with a fine all-round team performance and a brace from Phil Glover to see off the challenge of Wyre Forest in this West Midlands League Division 1 South mid-table battle.
They made light of the sticky ground to cause the visitors problems from the off with their lively attack creating several early half-chances.
The home pressure eventually paid off with Simon Gwynne stabbing home the opening goal from close range after the outstanding Glover's header from a Luke Semple free kick rebounded from the crossbar.
Hinton kept up the pressure but could not add to their total until mid-way through the second period.
They effectively sealed victory with two goals in three minutes from Glover and Mike Marsden.
Glover grabbed his second goal with a crisp header from Semple's corner, and minutes later John Williams provided a pin-point cross for Marsden to head home goal number three.
Hinton had the opportunity to make the victory more emphatic when teenage debutant Sam Gwynne was brought down in the box, but Williams failed to convert the resulting spot-kick.
