Malvern Rangers 2 Leominster Town 5
LEOMINSTER claimed their first West Midlands League Division 1 South win of 2004, a fine team performance at Malvern earning them a welcome three points to consolidate their place in the top half of the table.
The visitors took a sixth minute lead when good approach work by Chris Price, Ben Price and Dylan Barrington teed up the ball for Neil Bennett to power a drive into the bottom corner.
Malvern hit back and Leominster's goalkeeper Kevin Jones made two excellent saves, tipping a shot onto the upright and diving at the feet of the home striker.
Leominster extended their lead when Barrington set up Davies for their second goal, but Malvern hit back through Mark Taylor.
Just before the break Leominster regained their two-goal advantage when Davies drove home a low cross from Ben Price.
Malvern attacked down the slope after the interval and reduced arrears to a single goal through Mark Tipton, but Leominster's defence gained the upper hand, and the visitors made sure of victory with a Chris Price header and a close-range goal from Daniel Rocke.
