Presteigne 2 Kington 1
PRESTEIGNE grabbed an extra-time winner to carry off the Mid Wales Women's Cup after a hard-fought battle against their near rivals in the final at Llandrindod Wells.
With both teams unbeaten so far this season, it was always going to be a close contest between Presteigne, the reigning league champions and Kington, who currently top the table, but Presteigne were first to draw blood when Jess Davies fired them in front in the first half.
Kington fought back, however, and levelled the scores midway through the second period when Sherrie Gore struck home following a short corner.
Kington had a goal from another short corner disallowed right on the full-time whistle and Presteigne profited from the let-off to score the winner with five minutes of extra time played.
