Leominster cemented their mid-table place in the Gerrard West of England and South Wales League North Division 2 by seeing off bottom club Chepstow 6-1 at Bridge Street Sports Centre.

Chepstow surprised their hosts by taking the lead against the run of play but Leominster hit back with two Ian Johnson goals inside 30 seconds and, after John Davies had hit a post, James Dunn converted a Josh Watkins cross to extend the lead.

The visitors lost their discipline in the second period and Leominster profited to add further goals through Watkins (2) and Bob Ridal.

Hereford slipped into the bottom two in North Division 1, despite a creditable 1-1 draw with Bath Buccs 3rd.

Skipper Colin Amos failed with a good chance to put Hereford ahead early on and later slack marking allowed Buccs to take the lead at the start of the second period.

Hereford, however, showed good spirit to fight back and a penalty corner was superbly converted by Amos whose shot found the bottom corner of the goal.

Hereford 2nd moved ahead of Leominster 2nd in North-East West District 1 after a conclusive 4-0 win over their county rivals.

Richard Jones and Ali Owen netted in the first half with Ian Gwilliam and man-of-the-match Owen doubling the tally after the break.

Ross left it late to snatch a 1-0 win at Imperial in North-East West District 3 with the goal coming in the last minute.

Hereford 4th benefited from the late arrival of three opposition players to snatch the lead against North Bristol 5th before going on to win 3-1 in North-East West District 4.

Malcolm Rogers scored twice before half-time and Will Alderton sealed the win after the visitors had reduced arrears.
