THE action on the racetrack at Hereford saw a highlight for Upper Lambourn trainer Lavinia Taylor and jockey Mark Bradbourne, writes Graham Saveker.
They scored a double with Lotier, who won the first division of the Novices' Hurdle and Idiome, who took the eventful Beginners Chase in which Majestic Moonbeam unseated his rider at the fifth fence.
Herefordshire jockey Richard Johnson pleased his followers with a narrow victory aboard Adalie in the Novices Handicap Chase. But his arch rival Tony McCoy left the track annoyed that he had picked up a day ban from the stewards for his use of the whip aboard the unplaced The Lyme Volunteer in the extended Handicap Chase.
McCoy denied he had been excessive in his use and stated that he would appeal.
Kings Caple trainer Venetia Williams continued her fine form with a double at Catterick Racecourse and a last-race win at Hereford with Pougatcheva in the Mares Only Handicap Hurdle under Nicky Williams.
