A large gathering plus guests, enjoyed a lovely lunch at The Angel, Kingsland, on a very wet and windy day. As the speaker was not able to be with them, club secretary Eileen Dilley took members down memory lane. The club was formed in 1979 with just a few residents of Lyonshall meeting together in each other's houses, and eventually as the membership grew, moving to the local pubs in the area. The club, over the years, has flourished, and membership remains at 30 with a waiting list. This year the club will be celebrating 25 years and it was decided to arrange a celebratory dinner in the summer. The next meeting is on Tuesday, March 2 at The Lion, Woonton. Members are asked to note change of venue and date.
