Hereford United player/coach Phil Robinson has experienced both highs and lows during his spell in charge at Edgar Street but has enjoyed every moment.
When Graham Turner relinquished the day to day running of the team, Robinson was the ideal candidate to step into his shoes and has not looked back since taking over.
Bar a sticky patch before Christmas, Robinson has overseen a return to form for the Bulls including an unbeaten eight match run with a flurry of goals the latest of which was a 4-3 victory at Boston United.
"I'm really enjoying it at the moment especially as we are in a good run of results," said Robinson. But even when we had a bad patch and the results were not going well it was enjoyable trying to work at putting it right.
"As a manager it is a good experience to go through a poor spell and turn things round. You can take a great deal of satisfaction having put things right and going on a decent run."
The parlous state of Hereford's finances means Robinson's options are restricted and he has been unable to strengthen his team.
"It's been very frustrating not being able to bring players in and if anything the squad's got smaller with Alex Kevan and Mark Williams leaving.
"But it is a simple matter of finance - we just can't afford to sign new players.
"When you look at other clubs in the lower end of the Conference such as Chester, Scarborough and even Stalybridge they have signed players but it is just not possible for us and we have to get on with what we've got. We're playing well at the moment and we just have to make sure we avoid getting injuries otherwise we would have problems due to the size of the squad.
"There is a good bit of talent at the club - a blend of youth and experience with myself, Ian Rodgerson and John Snape. But we operating with such a small squad - if you look at Boston who we played in a reserve match in midweek, they had six or seven experienced Conference players involved"
