ROOKIE keeper Lee Evans is standing by for the biggest game of his career in Hereford United's Nationwide Conference clash with leaders Dagenham & Redbridge at Edgar Street tomorrow (3pm).

Number one Matt Baker has an ankle injury and is rated doubtful ahead of the Daggers' visit.

Bulls player/coach Phil Robinson is hoping Baker will be fit but admits it would be a huge challenge for Evans if had to step in for only his second league appearance of the season.

"Lee hasn't had much experience and it would be a massive game for him," said Robinson.

Striker Paul Parry (ankle) and Scott Goodwin with a re-occurrence of a stomach muscle problem, are also doubtful.

Robinson, who played 45 minutes in the reserves, could be back to help Hereford who have seen a swift reversal in their fortunes after suffering two consecutive league losses which has seen them edge towards the relegation zone."

"After two defeats we've gone from eighth to 16th and we are starting to look downwards again instead of upwards so tomorrow's game is very important for us.

"We need to get something from the game but it is going to be a tall order with the size of their squad and the type of players they have got."

Robinson is familiar with Dagen-ham's strikers Mark Stein, who he played with at Stoke City, and Ken Charlery who he has played against several times.

"Mark was a legend at Stoke and scored a lot of goals. I always look at the goalscoring charts and the teams with a couple of players in the top 10 are always doing well.

"Dagenham have got first and second so it shows the benefit of having natural goalscorers."
