MIDFIELDER Paul Parry has added a new dimension to his game this season according to player/coach Phil Robinson who has hailed his new found passion for Hereford United.

Robinson has been particularly pleased with Parry's hunger to see Hereford win every game.

"Paul has worked really hard for the team," he said. "He has really got the bit between his teeth and developed a new aspect of his game which is working hard on his defensive responsibilities, hand in hand with his natural ability.

"He's started to become really passionate about his football and desperate for the team to win. Whereas last year he was quite happy to turn up and play, this year he has really come into his own a little bit."

The injury-plagued Steve Piearce and Scott Voice have not been so lucky this season but as Pierace showed against Swansea City with his second half brace to lift the Invitation Cup he can be a forced to reckon with - if he stays fit. "There is no doubt Steve Piearce can score goals but unfortunately for him and the club he just can't keep himself fit," said Robinson.

"We have not been able to use Steve or Scott Voice in many games and that is a big drain on a club with resources the size of Hereford's. To have them out for so long is quite damaging."

As Hereford United break for the summer speculation still surrounds the future of Gavin Williams who has yet to commit himself to another deal at Edgar Street.

The talented 21-year-old is one of several younger players who have formed the nucleus of the United side over the past 12 months but it seems the forward could be on his way out of Edgar Street.

"Gavin Williams is one of those players who could play at a higher level," said Phil Robinson.

"He has been offered a new contract but is yet to decide whether to sign it - that is how it stands at the moment."
