Hereford United will be looking to return to winning ways tomorrow when they en-tertain Dover Athletic at Edg-ar Street in the Nationwide Conference (3.00).

After an excellent start United's recent form has been patchy and they can only claim one win in their last seven Conference gam-es.

While maintaining fourth place, they are 11 points behind leaders Yeovil Town and if that gap isn't bridged soon it could be too late with a third of the season completed already.

Despite an influx of strikers Bulls have failed to score in their last two outings and have not won at home since September 5 although their last two meetings at Edgar Street with Dover have ended with them taking the three points.

Director of Football Graham Turner played a new strike force in Tuesday night's 1-0 Nationwide Variety Club Trophy defeat at home to Kettering with the vastly experienced Jimmy Quinn and the inexperienced Jimmy Quiggin joining forces.

"Quiggin got in to some good goalscoring positions and had probably our best chance, while Quinn set up a number of opportunities for his colleagues," he said.

"It'll be a kick up the backside job for Saturday, we'll watch a video of Tuesday's performance and hopefully I can get them right for it again."

Top scorer Gavin Williams is Un-ited's big doubt having picked up a knock last Saturday in their defeat at Rushde, but John Snape, Ian Rodgerson and Craig Hanson should be fit again after various bumps and bruises.

Steve Piearce is still unavailable.

If Hereford are awarded a penalty Turner will be hoping for improved fortunes as his side have missed their last three and have failed to score from 13 in the last three years.

With next Saturday's FA Cup fixture away at Woking in Turner's thoughts he will be hoping that he does not pick up any fresh injuries as the list of players unavailable for the Cup fixture is already developing. Striker Williams will miss the game as he is serving a one match suspension and Quiggin and Quinn are cup-tied due to playing for lower graded sides in the earlier rounds of the competition. Quinn was involved at Cirencester Town whilst Quiggin played for Boldmere St Michaels before they both moved to Edgar Street on a non-contract basis.

Meanwhile, Hereford have taken swift action towards a small minority of fans who caused trouble in their top of the table clash at Rushden & Diamonds last weekend. A statement issued by the United board of directors and fully supported by HUISA, the independent branch of the supporters club said: "Any supporter arrested at a match in the vicinity of a match or ejected from a ground for football-related offences will be banned from Edgar Street with immediate effect."
