FORMER Wolves goal king Steve Bull could make his home debut for Hereford United in tonight's LDV Vans Trophy second round clash with Reading (7.45).
Bull, who is helping out with coaching at Edgar Street, came on as substitute in Saturday's 1-0 Nationwide Conference defeat at Northwich Victoria, only to strain a hamstring after only 15 minutes on the field.
But Director of Football Graham Turner is hopeful Bull could be involved on the bench again tonight, saying: "He just had a little tightening of the hamstring and did the right thing in coming off. We will see how he is tonight."
Turner has other problems for tonight with both goalkeepers, Scott Cooksey and Matt Baker, having been affected by a 'flu virus which has prevented them from training. He expects at least one of them to be fit, however.
Defender Matt Clarke, who switched to right-back at North-wich to replace Southport-bound Chris Lane, is also struggling with a knee injury while experienced midfielder Ian Rodgerson has a calf strain.
Turner says tonight's game will be a very tough test for his side against a Reading outfit riding high in the Second Division.
He added: "It has cost them over £5million to assemble a very strong squad, and I know they are treating the game very seriously -- they are preparing as they would for any big game.
"But we have done very well in cup competitions in the past and this is throwing down a challenge to our lads to show they are good enough to match quality Second Division players."
