STEEL drum bands from Bromyard's Queen Elizabeth High School have been invited to play at a prestigious Hereford concert.
Two of the school's bands, members of which are known as Pans' People, will perform at the city's Courtyard arts centre on Friday, February 27.
They will be part of the BBC Hereford & Worcester Herefordshire Young Musicians' Showcase at 7.30pm.
Head of music Mair Pennington said the bands would be practising hard for the occasion and were very much in demand to perform around the county.
"We've got 10 or 11 concerts between now and the summer term," she said.
Venues the band will be playing this year include the official opening of The Bromyard Centre on April 10 and the St Peter's School fete and fundraiser, on June 12 and June 19 respectively.
In-school performances include the school concert on June 23 and its prize giving on July 15.
The school has four steel bands - two junior and two senior.
Tickets for the concert on February 27 are available from the Courtyard's box office on 01432 359252.
