THE recent poor weather took its toll on the Saturday fixture list with a number of scheduled fixtures unable to take place following snow, frost and then heavy rain.
In the West Midlands League Premier Division only Bromyard's match at Tipton Town went ahead with Wellington's home game with Newport, Kington's visit to Brierley & Hagley and Ledbury's visit to Smethwick Sikh Temple all called off.
Hinton's Broomy Hill ground was not fit for the visit of Tenbury United in West Midlands League Division 1 South while at Bridge Street Sports Centre in Leominster, where Ludlow Town should have been the visitors, an early inspection found the pitch waterlogged in many places.
Only two matches got underway in the Hereford Times Herefordshire League Premier Division while the conditions also saw many lower division matches postponed.
Both HFL Peterson Cup semi-finals were able to go ahead, however, with Lads Club Colts emerging 4-1 winners over Orcop Juniors, for whom Jamie Laurent netted a consolation goal, and Marriotts strolling to a 3-0 victory over Bulmers.
Three of the four HFA Sunday Cup ties went ahead with Jason Ellis, Darren Jones and Eddie Wells scoring for Marden in a 3-1 win over Three Horseshoes who had taken the lead with Daniel Rocke's penalty.
Bishops Frome and Heart of Oak also progressed with victories over Dynamo Ledbury and Three Elms respectively.
