BURNS NIGHT - Scotland's national bard was remembered in style at a Burns Night celebration at Knighton Community Centre. At the climax of the evening, the haggis was carried into the hall by Councillor Ken Harris preceded by piper Mike Shanahan who enthralled everyone with his skillful playing of the bagpipes. Joyce Price addressed the haggis in style and delivered the first cut with a ceremonial dagger. The haggis was then enthusiastically toasted, and everyone then enjoyed a meal of haggis and or sausages eaten with potatoes and Swedish turnip in the traditional way. Katt Williams, Katie Mohamed and Sandra Sharp entertained the audience and contributed to the evening's great success. Acting chairman of the Community Centre, Councillor Trevor Johnson, thanked everyone who had helped to make the night such an enjoyable one.
