CHALLENGER Jamie McKeever has kicked off a war of words in the lead-up to his British featherweight title contest with the champion, Hereford's Darren 'Dazzo' Williams.
McKeever held the title until last May when he lost out to Coventry's Roy Rutherford who was himself defeated by Williams in Belfast in November.
"I never under-estimate anyone but I'm not sure Williams brings much to the table to worry me," said the 24-year-old from Birkenhead.
"I know he's a bit of a battler but I am sure I can outbox him, outfight him and basically overcome him however he chooses to play it."
Williams, who is stepping up his training before the Bridgend bout, remained unconcerned about his opponent's bluster.
"It's all talk and it doesn't bother me," said Williams. "He's bound to be confident but really this is his last crack of the whip. At the end of the day it's what happens in the ring that counts."
Williams has reported a good response to the Bridgend contest on February 28, which will also feature a IBO lightweight world title fight between Maesteg's Jason Cook and challenger Kevin Bennett.
