THE River Wye Preservation Trust has said farewell to president of 13 years, former Bishop of Hereford, the Rt Rev John Oliver.
The chairman of the trust, Captain Simon Dereham, presented him with a framed picture of the River Wye salmon pools as a token of appreciation for his valued help and guidance over the past 13 years.
In his farewell speech Captain Dereham complimented John Oliver on his wide knowledge of matters rural and agricultural and his sympathetic and caring approach to the preservation of the river.
The River Wye Preservation Trust looks after the various interests of those who use the river including, fishermen, canoeists, rafters and conservationists and aims to have a harmonious balance between all users.
