JAZZ jivers danced their way to raising more than £5,000 at a ball in aid of seriously ill county children.
To the sounds of Gentlemen of Jive parents from Hereford Cathedral School and Herefordshire business people partied for Acorns Children's Hospice.
Leading the partygoers at the Three Counties Hotel, Hereford, was Satin and Silk's Julie Ford, who organised the ball.
"We have raised in excess of £5,000 and people are still giving us money. We are absolutely thrilled," she said.
Two auctions, conducted by estate agent Bill Jackson, raised £4,000 alone. Lots included a helicopter flight, a flash car for a weekend and a picture by county artist Crispin Thornton Jones. The NSPCC will receive £940 from a raffle.
"We saw the Acorns articles in the Hereford Times and thought it was a charity people could relate to as lots of people have kids. As it was a local charity for children we got a lot of support," added Julie.
