ONE hundred and fifty blue balloons were sent sailing over Hereford's High Town carrying a £4million appeal message from life-limited county children on Tuesday.
County youngsters and their families gave a big cheer for the new Acorns Children's Hospice, planned for Worcester, and the city's launch of the Three Counties Appeal to pay for it.
It was Hereford's Adam Locke who proudly did the honours.
He joined other youngsters and their families together with bereaved mums and dads outside the old house to make sure one of the most important events of their lives was a success.
The balloons represented up to 43 children in Herefordshire alone, who may never see their 20th birthday.
They hope the launch will send out a message to supporters to do all they can to help.
The families were joined by Acorns staff, including project manager Mike Cartledge and mayor of Hereford, Councillor Sue Andrews.
