A BINGO playing Herefordshire grandmother is on a £3,000-winning streak.
Carol Hill is calling the numbers in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice and in memory of her grandson, who died aged just seven.
The Leominster bingo buff has now raised more than £3,000 for the charity's planned new hospice, which will provide care for life-limited children like her grandson, Stephen Hill.
He was only three-years-old when he developed a mystery problem with his foot that developed into a cruel and debilitating disease.
Stephen enjoyed visits to Acorns' Selly Oak Hospice, but had it been closer to home he would have gone more often.
Now his grandmother is helping other terminally ill county children get the help they need.
"The new hospice will be fabulous. I love the way they have done it. It is situated in a nice spot, not too far from town. It would have been lovely for Stephen," said Carol.
She received a framed photograph of the 10-bed new hospice, to be built in a donkey paddock in Worcester, when she handed over a big cheque last week.
She will show it to family and friends to boost fundraising, due to start again next February.
"I would like to thank all my family and friends who have helped me and donated prizes. Without them I would not have got this far," added Carol.
