ALTHOUGH Bromyard played some good football in difficult conditions, Brierley defended well and took their chances to win this West Midlands League Premier Division mid-table clash.
BRIERLEY HILL 2, BROMYARD TOWN 1
The visitors adapted well to the heavy going, playing some nice football through midfield only to lack the final ball
Bromyard striker Andy Crowther saw his sharp strike well saved, and minutes later Danny Hilditch climbed well to a corner but headed over.
Just before half-time, Brierley grabbed the opening goal when a long clearance out of defence bounced awkwardly to deceive defender Danny Williams, Adam Winwood pouncing to force the ball past goalkeeper Adie Hipkins.
Brierley went two up when Bromyard again failed to deal with another long clearance, Daryl Beale forcing home from close range.
Teenage substitute Andy Hipkins gave Bromyard hope when he controlled a cross from Williams to fire home, but although the visitors pressed for an equaliser Brierley held on well.
