A CLERGYMAN and his wife who raised more than £7,300 by walking along a medieval pilgrimage route have given cheques to two charities.

Chris Fletcher, vicar of the Brendenbury parishes, and his wife Maggie walked 440 miles from Pamplona to Santiago de Compostela last autumn.

The couple have split the money raised between the Friends of Bromyard Hospital, which will use it to buy physiotherapy equipment, and the Herefordshire Cathedral Per-petual Trust.

Mr and Mrs Fletcher are to talk about their experiences on Friday, February 6, in Edwyn Ralph Village Hall and on Saturday, February 14 at St Richard's School, in aid of Bredenbury Church.

For tickets for the Edwyn Ralph event contact Margaret Lewis on 01885 482259. For the talk at St Richard's contact Bernard Butler on 01885 482777.

Rev and Mrs Fletcher are willing to speak to other organisations about their trek. They can be contacted on 01885 482236.
