Colwall Primary School is hoping to launch a scheme to reduce morning traffic congestion at its gates.
The school intends to follow in the footsteps of Welland Primary, which has operated a 'walking bus' scheme successfully since October.
Parents drop off their children at designated points along a planned route some distance from the school. A team of volunteers then lead the procession of children to school on foot.
Colwall head Richard Southall said: "Our school has grown in size from 70 pupils to 200 since I've been here, so the roads are pretty jam-packed with cars. We know that the walking bus scheme has been working well at Welland Primary, so thought it was a good idea."
The school has now sent letters to parents, telling them about the plan and asking for volunteers to walk the children to school.
