Police are keen to identify two youths who claimed to be window cleaners working on the Deer Park estate, Ledbury, shortly before three burglaries.
The break-ins took place on Sunday night and police believe they were connected.
In all three cases, windows or side doors were forced and personal items were taken, including a distinctive figurine of an old lady holding balloons. Its owner, a pensioner, said the figurine belonged to his late wife and was of great sentimental value.
The burglaries took place at addresses in Ferndown Road, Biddulph Way and Shepherds Close.
PC Mark Herbert, of Hereford Police, said: "We're anxious to identify two youths who were seen in the vicinity of Ferndown Road and Biddulph Way during Saturday afternoon.
"One was wearing a navy blue anorak and a hat and the other was riding a bicycle. They claimed to be doing window cleaning but didn't appear to have any equipment."
