The Workmatch charity has confirmed that the future of its n-coda gallery at the Old Toy Museum, Church Lane, Ledbury, is currently under review.
It says not enough people have been attending workshops there to justify rent and running costs.
Workmatch spokesman Geoff Tunstall said: "As a charity, we have to keep to our core objectives, which is providing work-based training, employment preparation and support into work for disabled or disadvantaged people.
"If we fail to attract sufficient trainees, in or around Ledbury, then it will be difficult for Workmatch to justify continuing leasing the premises for retail and exhibitions only, as it is used at present.
"It was the original intention of Herefordshire Council to sell the premises before Workmatch, in partnership with Social Services, came on to the scene. I can only assume that if we were to pull out of the premises, then the sale of the premises would go ahead."
Mr Tunstall said this could effect the Ledbury-based artists' group, Artistree, which has held successful exhibitions in the Old Toy Museum, including during the Ledbury Poetry Festival.
At present, however, no Artistree art works are on display or for sale on the premises.
The artwork that is for sale has been produced by Workmatch clients attending sessions in Hereford or Leominster.
Artistree has declined to comment.
Workmatch is keen to attract more disadvantaged and disabled people to sessions in Ledbury. Anyone seeking further information, should phone 01432 265545.
