Leamington Spa 5 Hereford United 5

HEREFORD lost the chance of securing their first away win of the season in the Midland Floodlit Youth League Premier Division after conceding two goals in the last five minutes.

But at half-time the young Bulls would probably have settled for a draw after finding themselves 3-1 behind.

Hereford had made an excellent start with Dean Jordan winning the ball to set Chris Mortlock through to open the scoring with just three minutes played.

But the Hereford defence failed to clear 15 minutes later, allowing the home side to get back on level terms and Leamington moved in front shortly afterwards before extending the margin still further on 33 minutes after Nick Panniers conceded a penalty.

Hereford rallied after the break, however, and Paul Brown's pass slipped in Mortlock to reduce arrears. Andrew Williams then levelled the scores and within minutes had put Hereford ahead with a sublime lob.

When Lewis Collins smashed in the fifth after a defender had only half-cleared, Hereford seemed on the verge of victory, an impression reinforced when goalkeeper Adam Ding made a fine save to protect the lead.

But, with Lewis Jones forced off through injury, Hereford had to reshuffle and Leamington took advantage to fight back for a share of the spoils.
