PARISH COUNCIL - Several people have asked about a Christmas tree in the centre of the village. The last time this was done, the lights were vandalised. It was felt that such a risk could not be taken with electric lights. We wondered if a tree without lights would be worthwhile.
HOPELAND HALL - It was agreed to give the hall committee £3,000 to help the financial situation and have the hall redecorated. It was also agreed to pay annually for the entertainments licence and electrical inspection.
DG GAMES SITE - Following protracted discussions and meetings with the planning officers, and three amended plans, approval was to be recommended for fifteen dwellings at the recent county council planning meeting. The parish council, while accepting that development of the site was unavoidable were still not happy with the plans presented although they were a big improvement on the original efforts. The decision was deferred for further consultation.
