YOUNG FARMERS CLUB - Apologies to Daintree Griffiths, past president of the Dilwyn branch, for a printing error last week. Daintree was recently elected one of only four county vice-presidents - not one of 40 as published. Congratulations Daintree.
VILLAGE SHOW - The committee is well under way with the preparations for this years new-look show on May 3. If anyone would like to help the committee, book a stall or enter the horse show, dog show or display of vintage/classic cars and steam/static engines, contact a member on 01544 318880.
NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH - Last week PC Naylor, crime assessment officer from West Mercia Police , addressed the meeting. PC Naylor described a newly introduced national scheme, The Rural Safety Initiative. As a result, the details of the scheme will be considered by the Parish Council at their next meeting, with a view to adopting ideas that will be of use to Dilwyn.
VILLAGE HALL - At the final committee meeting of 2003, approval was given for the installation of new hand dryers and a new cooker. It was also agreed to carry out external decoration once the weather improved.
NEW YEAR - Lambing is well under way at Tony Halls farm and a snowman was spotted last week, on Bidney Corner.
