PARISH COUNCIL - At the last meeting of Clehonger Parish Council held at Innesfield Community Centre on December 11, 2003, in attendance were six councillors, the clerk, eight members of the public, WPC Fiona Faringdon and Community Safety Officer Caroline Fitzgerald. The clerk reported that the bus shelter at the top of Church Road had been repaired and turned 180. The refuse collectors have been notified that the bins have not been emptied on the playing fields. The Lengthsman has rodded the drains in Poplar Road, The Hollies and Syers Croft. Members of the public were extremely concerned about a proposed waste recycling plant at Stoney Street, Madley. After a lengthy discussion it was decided that the clerk would write to the planning office objecting to this proposal. Concern was also raised regarding the level of vandalism and graffiti. Members were informed by the Community Support Officer that Special Constables will be patrolling the area three nights a week. A discussion took place regarding whether a Resident Parish Officer was needed for the village and how this could be funded. Three planning applications had been received and a temporary access route to proposed residential development at Belmont has been granted. The next meeting of the Parish Council will be held on Thursday, January 29, at Innesfield Community Centre at 7.30pm. As always, members of the public are very welcome to attend.
