HISTORY OF SPEECH - The Byton, Combe, Kinsham and Stapleton Group met on 14 January at the Arkwright Hall, Kinsham. Thirty one members heard Mrs. Jill Probyn give an account of the political, social and linguistic history of the North West Frontier of Kashmir and her experiences there recently, and they were able to hear authentic music and examine photographs and other artefacts. The next meeting will be the annual dinner on March 10 at the Judge's Lodging, Presteigne, when local historian Keith Parker will talk about the history of the Warden (site of Presteigne Castle).
