Kington skater boys and girls are getting ready to 'ollie' and 'grind' when the town's new skateboard park opens next month.
Work began last Monday to turn Kington's teen dream into reality, complete with mini pipe, fun box and rail slide at the park created in the town's recreation ground.
A massive £24,950 grant from the Market Towns Initiative got the project started and other sources including local fundraisers helped push the total up to £34,000.
Mayor of Kington, Ros Bradbury, helped youngsters lobby for their new facilities by acting as a mediator and going on to the streets to ask them what they really wanted.
Regeneration co-ordinator for the Kington area, Lyn Bright said: "In the next 12 months up to 500 kids will use the park."
