HEREFORDSHIRE CIBA bowlers' unbeaten record this season was ended by a narrow two-shot defeat to Herefordshire Women in an invitation match at Wormelow.
Rink honours were shared at three each but the women triumphed by 119 shots to 117 overall.
Eleanor Knight, wife of county indoor president Terry, skipped their highest win - a 28-11 victory over Terry Collier - while Jean Jones' rink beat John Locke 30-20.
Doreen Herbert skipped the other women's win, 20-14 against Richard Brown.
For the men, Ivor Galliers' rink beat Glen Eley 28-10, Norman Lewis conceded only seven ends after a 24-13 victory over Barbara Warburton, and Ray Preece pipped Wyn Oakes 20-18.
It is hoped that more such match will be played between the teams.
