BEAUMONTS met Red Devils with a squad of seven players in their first match after Christmas in the BOSS Hereford Netball League but won comfortably 65-34.
Nicky Hill and Sue Woodrow were an effective combination in defence against a tall goal shooter. Employing tried and tested attacking moves, Dawn Raczowski, Carrie Wylde and Jane Hopkins then had no problem in feeding their own goal shooter, Pam Emberton, to create and build on an early lead.
Jaffas took control of their match against Folbigg Flyers in the first quarter and went on to win 42-27.
Jaffas had good defensive work from Tracy Yarranton and Theresa McGoldrick and, with good feeding from Karen Bowen, Cath Firkins and Wendy Bowen, their shooters hardly missed.
Aztec had only six players but beat Panthers 46-28. Panthers shooter Caroline Williams hardly missed a shot but their attack rarely get passed the Aztec defence.
Montoos could not get their game together a young Allsorts team and lost 44-16. Despite excellent all round play from centre Emma King, the shooters were restricted and also missed too many shots.
