PERFECT ACCESSIBILITY for the county's art collection, and I quote 'will still be available for the public to view, but only with a couple of days advance notice'.
In my innocence, I thought museums were places where adults remembered their childhood, parents and teachers helped children explore the past, tourists went on wet days, residents caught up on local history and anyone could admire the beauty and craftsmanship of the past. Surely this should be on display not locked away and produced grudgingly one item at a time to order.
Conservation and preservation for future generations, yes, but not for us. We should be exploiting our uniqueness more, so is Hereford's slogan to be 'Come here and see our wealth of supermarkets'.
