Hereford and Worcester Ambulance Trust has a new chief executive.
He is Russell Hamilton, of Ross-on-Wye, who is said to have a tremendous track record in working in the NHS.
Mr Hamilton, aged 45, is on secondment with the trust, working as director of strategic and corporate development.
Among previous jobs he has been chief executive officer of Nuneaton and Bedworth Primary Care Group and project director for emergency care services at West Midlands Strategic Health Authority.
Mr Hamilton will take over as chief executive in February from Mrs Tamar Thompson, who has been acting chief executive following the retirement of Paul Leopold last summer.
Mrs Thompson is moving on to Mr Hamilton's former employer, the Strategic Health Authority, as its director of modernisation.
The chairman of the trust, Joanna Newton, who is also from Herefordshire, welcomed the appointment of Mr Hamilton, saying he had a tremendous track record in the NHS with a background in primary, secondary and emergency care at senior officer level.
