ROYAL BRITISH LEGION - The Eardisley and District Branch of the Royal British Legion have, during the past year, collected £2,016 for the Poppy Appeal. Poppy Co-ordinator Mr D Terry would like to thank everyone who participated in anyway in helping to raise this magnificent amount of money. Awards for service to the Poppy Appeal were made to Mrs R Bray (Almeley Post Office), Mrs Glover (Rhydspence Inn), Mrs D Raymond (Spond), Mrs Williamson (Whitney Court), Mrs Handley (Woonton), Whitney Stores Garage and the Almeley and Eardisley Schools.

PIES PUNCH AND PROMISES - As a result of the highly enjoyable and successful evening held in the Curzon Herrick Hall, £1,883 was raised for the Eardisley and Bollingham Churches. The organisers are very grateful to everyone who supported the event and to Mr Martin Jones for so successfully auctioning the promises.

EARDISLEY SHOW 200 CLUB - Winners in the October, November and December were: Mr Martin Powell, Mr Matthew hall, Robin and Norma Walters, Mr Bryan Powles, Mr Clive Davies, Mr Bill Shoobridge, Mrs K Harvey, Mr M White and Mr R Preece. A special non-winners draw in December resulted in £20 prizes for Mr P Williams, Mrs I Beadle, Mr D Chant, Mrs M Greatorex and Mr G Hesp.

GROUP PARISH COUNCIL - When the group met in the Whitney Village Hall in November the parish plan was discussed and the final publication will probably be made at he end of July. Repairs to the No3 street light in Canonford Avenue was discussed and a request to Pirelli to carry on with the work at a cost of £173. Eardisley came third in Herefordshire in Bloom and won £100 in Wyevale Vouchers. The precept for 2004/05 was discussed with a decision to raise £5,000. Planning application for an extension to Harp Bungalow, Porton; Forest Fencing - extension to one building and one new building; Long Barn, Winforton - redundant barn into four holiday residences. There were no objections to the first two applications, but objection was raised to the third. The next meeting of the council will be at 7.30pm, on Monday in the Reading Room.
