FORMER Bulls favourite Ian Wright predicts his new club Burton Albion can cause an upset against the Conference leaders at Eton Park tonight.
Hereford United's ex-captain and veteran of more than 130 league games is plotting to end the Edgar Street club's impressive start to the season and has pin-pointed a weakness at set-pieces.
"I suppose they are not the biggest of teams which gives us an advantage on set-pieces but I think we will give them a game all over the pitch because we are playing quite well," he said.
"We've played eight games, seven of them against full time teams, and apart from one game have deserved to get something from every one."
Wright, who has shaken off an ankle injury picked up at Telford last weekend to take his place at the heart of the Brewers defence, has kept a close eye on his old club and been surprised at just how many goals they are scoring.
"Last season we played well and would get teams on the rack but struggle to score but they've solved that problem now and are scoring for fun," said Wright.
Meanwhile Hereford boss Graham Turner has urged his side to set the record straight after Burton wrecked a mini-run with a 2-0 win in last season's corresponding fixture.
"I think we were a little bit peeved because we were on a good run and they beat us so we need to put the record straight," he added.
The Bulls boss is confident his team can do that and has no qualms about his side being able to find the net despite teams defending deep into their own halves.
"The significant thing is that we've got nine different goalscorers so if one department gets closed down, someone is popping up somewhere else," said Turner.
United required two set-piece goals to seal a dogged victory against Scarborough last weekend but Turner says his side must learn to expect that type of display from opposition.
"We didn't play as well as we might but I've seen the video of the match and we still had six or seven good chances," he said.
"The fact is that because we are top teams are defending deeper and in numbers but we have to get used to that."
Turner also praised Burton's player-manager Nigel Clough and conceded he could be a chip off the old block.
"He's brought them into the Conference, got a decent side and he looks as if he knows what they are about."
FORMCAST: Bulls to write off Wright's prediction 2-1.
