NATIONWIDE Conference leaders Hereford United must begin defending as a team again, warns manager Graham Turner ahead of tomorrow's clash at Woking (3pm).
The Bulls' impressive start to the season faltered last weekend with a 3-3 draw against Gravesend & Northfleet and Turner was unhappy with two of the goals his side conceded.
With key defender Andy Tretton (thigh) still likely to be missing for the Bulls, Turner is looking for a collectively improved defensive display as they look to maintain top spot.
"We just need to adjust at the back a bit because we've been conceding too many sloppy goals of late," said Turner.
"The problem is were have failed to defend as a team. We're great going forward and our creation of chances has been outstanding but defensively we have slipped a little.
"I don't want to stop us getting forward but we want to go back to defending how we did earlier in the season when we looked very solid."
West Bromwich Albion loan signing Tamika Mkandawire could make his debut tomorrow, while captain Tony James will be fit to play after four stitches were removed from a head wound sustained against Gravesend.
The Cards go into the match at Kingfield with a clutch of high-scoring draws under their belts including 3-3 draws at home to Shrewsbury Town and away at Accrington Stanley last weekend.
Turner has been impressed with Woking under manager Glenn Cockerill and with a trip to lowly Northwich Victoria coming up on Tuesday he knows they face a testing two matches.
"Woking have started quite well while Northwich have just changed their manager with Alvin McDonald from Vauxhall Motors taking over," added Turner.
"They're both difficult matches and especially in the case of Northwich with a new manager we are going to have to watch out for a backlash.
"But, from our point of view, these are two games that we must try to take six points from."
FORMCAST: Bulls to take a 2-1 win.
