BIG hearted members of a county bikers club are preparing for the open road with a mission to help sick children.
More than 100 motorcyclists are likely to turn out for a 200-mile round ride to Aberystwyth in aid of Acorns Children's Hospice on Sunday, May 5.
Organised by Hereford Motorcycle Club, it will be the third time money has been raised for Acorns.
Last year members raised more than £6,000 for the charity. This year they are hoping to do even better and will donate their money to the £4 million fundraising appeal to build a new hospice in Worcester for life-limited children in the three counties.
"We were invited up to see one of the units at the Acorns Childrens Hospice in Walsall and it seemed to really grab people's hearts. When we heard there were plans to open one in Worcester we wanted to do all we could to help," said the club's membership secretary, Barry Morgan.
The big event will take place from 9am when registration takes place at the Rose and Crown in Ledbury Road, Hereford and the bikes will leave at 10.30 am.
