TWO divisions may separate Peterborough United and Hereford United but hot-shot striker Steve Guinan insists there is nothing to fear.
The two sides meet at London Road tomorrow in the first round of the FA Cup with buoyant Bulls confident of upsetting the Second Division club.
Conference leaders Hereford, serial giant-killers down the years with 12 Football League scalps to their name, could not be better prepared to inflict some more damage on higher rated opponents.
"None of our boys are fazed by going to Peterborough," said Guinan, who yesterday received his player of the round trophy from the FA after scoring a hat-trick in the 6-1 win at Harrow two weeks ago.
"I'm sure they must be an OK side, but they are not exactly setting the Second Division alight and you never know what might happen in the FA Cup."
The Posh's record makes poor reading. Barry Fry's side are without a league win at London Road and have conceded more home goals than any other side in the division.
Midfielder Jamie Pitman is among those backing the Bulls to knock out the Posh.
"I don't see why not," he said. "We feel we are capable of going anywhere and doing well and hopefully that is the case at London Road.
"I don't think it would be a massive upset if we did win, mind you with the expectation levels from our fans they'll probably expect us to not only win but by four or five goals," he added. "I definitely think we have got a chance especially when you consider their home record and our away record.
"We are able to play a little bit more away from home where we've scored a lot of goals.
Hereford's speed on the breaks could be a decisive factor argues Pitman.
"If they start putting us under pressure we have to soak it up but, as we showed the other night against Northampton, we have the ability to hit sides on the break and that's a key area we could exploit against them," he said.
For Pitman the FA Cup remains a source of excitement and tension but also the chance for non-league players to impress on a wider stage.
"A good cup display can help a lot of the younger players to progress either within the club or elsewhere," he said.
"Everybody wants to do well and it's the chance for Conference clubs to land one of the biggest Premiership sides in the third round. That's something every Conference side and lower league club wants to do."
Turner is set to have winger Paul Parry available while on-loan West Brom defender Tamika Mkandawire has been given the go-ahead by the Baggies to play.
FORMCAST: Bulls to win 1-0.
